Metal soffit and fascia panels for commercial buildings.

Canopy, overhang and walkway soffits, fascias and wing panels in metal or composite panel, bid with the wall and roof so the edges are built by one crew.

What we bid

The underside people see first.

Soffits are the first thing people see walking into a building, and the part of the envelope that takes wind from below. We bid soffit and fascia with the wall and the roof, so the edges are built by one crew.

  • Flush metal soffit panels under canopies, overhangs and covered walkways
  • Vented or solid soffit, as the spec calls for
  • Composite soffits and canopy undersides — see ACM and MCM panels
  • Fascias, canopy edges and wing panels
  • J-trim, F-trim and corners that tie the soffit into the wall and fascia, in the panel color
  • Cutouts for lights, cameras, speakers and sprinkler heads, laid out with the other trades

Before bid day

Four things to settle on a soffit.

  • Wind from below

Wind blowing at a wall pushes up on the soffit above it, and a canopy takes pressure from both sides. Soffit fastening follows the project’s design wind pressures (ASCE 7), not just the panel’s weight.

  • Vented or solid

Vented soffit lets an attic or roof cavity breathe; an open canopy usually wants solid panels. The spec should say which, and how much vent area is needed.

  • Coordination

Lights, cameras and sprinkler heads all land in the soffit. We lay out the cutouts with the electrician and the fire sprinkler sub before the panels go up.

  • Match the walls

Soffit, fascia and wall panels usually share a color and finish. Ordered together, they match.

FAQ

Common questions

Don't see yours? Call us — we're happy to talk it through.

Do you install soffit on canopies and covered walkways?

Yes. Canopies, overhangs, drive-throughs and covered walkways, in flush metal panels or composite panel, with the fascia and trim.

Vented or solid soffit?

It depends on what’s above. Vented soffit lets an attic or roof cavity breathe; under an open canopy, solid panels are usual. The architect’s spec should say which, and if it doesn’t, we’ll ask.
